Impressive, impressive...

My bfurendo and I went to a friend's wedding last Saturday. It was terrific!!! There were several things that I were really good about this one.
1. The Church ceremony was done within an hour in a simple but meaningful fashion.
There were the vows, speeches, singing of hymns and prayers like the usual but everything was done in one hour. The bride walked in after 10 mins of the ceremony. The groom wrote a song for the bride to express his love for her. This guy is talented.
The Church was a small one at a downtown location but it's one of those old classic ones where MTVs go there to shoot music videos apparently...

2. There were 40 tables at the wedding banquet.
40 tables is not a small number for a wedding and I remember if someone in HK has 30 tables, that's already a lot of tables.
Food was served quite quickly in between games. It wasn't boring where people just kept eating and then played games.

3. The groom and bride's dads were really funny.
They made very funny speeches describing how the couple met as well as sang for them.
4. The groom made incredible speeches throughout the evening.
The groom did most of the talking during the evening other than the MCs. This is good because the bride was already busy changing into different outfits and making sure she looked beautiful.
Again, the groom sang a song that he wrote to the bride after they 1 yr anniversary. He sang it in the wedding to everyone.
He thanked the bride's parents for raising such a wonderful daughter for them. This is more of a Chinese tradition for the groom to say that. Hence, we also have the tradition of the groom giving 'milk money' to the bride's family to express this thanks.
5. The background music was well selected to accompany each section of the banquet.
It was funny that when the groom and bride came in...they played "Married with Children" as the background music. As well, there were some game show music when they were playing games.
This was held at Dragon Dynasty Chinese Restaurant. The dessert and general dishes were good. The seafood was ok - didn't taste like a 'catch of the day'... I could taste it wasn't very fresh.

Haha, that looks like Grace Church on-the-Hill. I've been to a wedding there before! :)
